ARML practice tomorrow

Hi all,

We'll have practice tomorrow (Sunday) at Stanford in the basement of building 380; see http://stanford.edu/~moorxu/2012ARML/ for directions and a practice schedule. Please note the room change from last week. Like last week, we will have room assignments for students on competitively selected teams, and all other students will be assigned rooms as they arrive.

The homework that was posted a few days ago will be due before tomorrow's practice. If you haven't done so already, submit your answers at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dG1rczNBQXFqVGljdzRDcWtLRVJwQnc6MQ. Also, recall that if you are on a competitively selected team, practice is mandatory; if you can't make practice and if you haven't yet emailed me with a reason, please do so before practice!

Best,
Moor

[SPAM:####] 4/22 practice recap

Hi everyone,

Practice materials from today's practice have been posted at http://stanford.edu/~moorxu/2012ARML/. If you didn't come to practice, I strongly recommend doing the problems. Even if you came to practice, nobody did every problem at practice -- take a look at some of the problems that you didn't have a chance to look at. To log in to view the practice materials, use username=****** and password=******.

[Note: I've removed the username and password above. They should be in the email version of this message; send Moor an email at moorxu@stanford.edu if you can't find it.]

We've also posted homework at that website as well. This homework is due on April 29, before the next practice. Submit your answers at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dG1rczNBQXFqVGljdzRDcWtLRVJwQnc6MQ.

As a reminder, attendance and homework are strongly recommended for everyone, and mandatory for competitively-selected students. If you are in the top 30 pool, you must get approval from me before missing a practice, so send me an email with an explanation! If you miss more than one practice without authorization, you may be bumped down to a lower team.

Practice this Sunday

Hi everyone,

Our next practice will be tomorrow (Sunday) from 2pm to 5pm in building 160 at Stanford. Room assignments will be posted at the main entrance to the building. See the practice webpage at http://stanford.edu/~moorxu/2012ARML/ for more information.

For students on competitively-selected teams, please note that practices are mandatory. If you cannot come to practice, please send me an email before practice with an explanation, and we can work something out.

For everyone else, you are strongly encouraged to come to practice. Doing so is great preparation for ARML, and it will allow you to meet other team members.

Sorry this email is a bit late. Any questions? Let me know. Hope to see you at practice!

Best,
Moor

4/15 practice recap

Hi everyone,

Thanks to those of you who came to the practice on April 15. The practice materials that we used are now posted at http://stanford.edu/~moorxu/2012ARML/; take a look! The problems are password protected; use username=****** and password=****** to log in to the page.

Our next practice will be this Sunday, April 22, from 2pm to 5pm, in building 160 at Stanford. Please note that this is a different building than where we were last time. See http://campus-map.stanford.edu/index.cfm?ID=01-160 for a map.

All of my emails are also being posted to the SFBA ARML blog at http://sfba-arml.blogspot.com/, and you can go there to see a record of these emails.

Re: ARML practice this Sunday

Just a quick reminder that we will have practice tomorrow (Sunday). We'll meet 2pm-5pm at Stanford in room 420-041. See the link below for directions. If you need help finding the practice room or getting into the building, give me a call at 541-206-7651.

I've set up a basic webpage for practices at http://stanford.edu/~moorxu/2012ARML/. This will (soon) contain a list of practice dates and other information relating to practices. After each practice, I'll also post the practice materials that we used.

ARML practice this Sunday

Hi everyone,

I will be running ARML practices for the SFBA team this year. The tentative plan is to hold weekly practices at Stanford, starting this weekend and continuing until ARML.

The first practice will be this Sunday, April 15, 2pm-5pm at Stanford. We will meet in room 420-041 on the Stanford campus. Please note that this is a room change from Tim's previous email; the new room is adjacent to the previously announced room, and it should be able to hold more people. The easiest way to reach the practice location is probably to go through the basement of the math corner; this is building 380. See http://campus-map.stanford.edu/index.cfm?ID=01-380 for a map, and I'll put up some signs before the practice.

Note that unlike subsequent practices, this practice is not mandatory and there will be no penalty if you can't make it. However, I strongly encourage you to attend, especially if you hope to be on a competitively selected team. If this is your first year at ARML, we will also have a session to introduce you to ARML.

A number of students have expressed that they have suggestions for our ARML team, or wish to help out at practices. If you're interested in giving us some input or helping organize our practices, please let me know! I'd love to talk to you.

If you have any questions or concerns about practices, please send me an email. Hope to see you on Sunday!

Best,
Moor
